| 2009 excavations of Assos ancient city located in Ayvacik town of Canakkale ended. Assoc. Dr. Nurettin Arslan who was the Chairman of The Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Department of Archeology, Department of Classical Archeology in COMU and who was the leader of excavation of Assos, said: “The students also joined to the excavations from Münich, Freiburg and Cottbus Universities of Germany. We found numerous coins in the excavations we made. In addition, we worked on the outer part of the Church of Ayazma.” |
