250 Million Dollar Kestanbol Curing Center and Hotel Construction Project
250 million dollar investment of Red Crescent with it's American Partner on the area of Kestanbol Curing Center and Hotel construction (which was started 24 years ago with the Governor of that period Erdinç Büyükakalın and abandoned because of insufficient decay) was cancelled. President of Red Crescent Tekin KÜÇÜKALİ said "We began to build a modern facility on this area after we took the permission. We looked for a partner because we couldn't finance 250 million dollar establishment. At last we made an agreement with our American partner to built this facility. We signed this contract on the 29th of February in 2009 with the ceremony in Çanakkale Governorship. The project would start in two months and SPA and Hotel would be into service in 1,5 years. But the worldwide crisis affected our American partner's financial status. Thus Çanakkale Governorship cancelled the permission because of the loss of time. This cancer treatment center would be the one in Turkey and around middle east. This would be a new technology and the patient around middle east countries would come to Çanakkale for treatment. We were sad because of this cancellation."
