| It is annouced that Australian Government would launch a consulate in Canakkale before March 18 Naval Glory Celebrations. Australia Ankara Consul, Jean DUNN, and Australia Military Attaché, Rio CASAGRANDE, have visited the Canakkale Governor, Orhan KIRLI. In the press meeting, Mr Jean DUNN told that they have started working on openning a consulate in Canakkale and they have come to visit this issue with the Canakkale Governor, Orhan KIRLI. Mr DUNN added that they woould like to open the consulate in Canakkale before the Anzac Day Festvies , 2006. Mr DUNN told that they have get all the permission from the national authorities of Turkey. Mr DUNN stressed that each year they are expecting increasing numbers of Australians in order to join the Anzac Day Festivies. Canakkale Governor, Mr Orhan KIRLI told that they are happy to wellcome Mr DUNN and Mr CASAGRANDE, and stressed that although there is a huge distance between Turkey and Australia in terms of Km's, both countries feel very close to each other. |
