| Turkiye Culture and Tourism Ministry announced that a 100 meter giant statue of Troian Warior, Hektor, would be buit on the enrance of the Dardanelles Strait. Culture and Tourism Minister, Ertugrul Gunay, has announced his ambition of building a giant statute of the greatest warrior of the ancient Troia, Hektor in Canakkale. During the pland and budget comission of the Tourism Ministry, Minister Gunay told that he would like to share one of his dreams after seeing the art work of folkloric walk of Anatolian warrriors who come to defend the ancient city Troia. Minister Gunay told that Troian warriors was underestimated in the Hollywood Troy movie, and thought that buiding a giant statue of the greatest warrior of Troia, Hektor, in the entrance of the Dardanelles Strait which can easilly be recognised by all ships passing by the Dardanelles. Minister Gunay added doing so we would show our respect to one of our greatest cultural values. |
