Local History Researcher Ahmet Uslu exhibited Turkish and Greek bricks around Canakkale in his gallery after 25 years study. Ahmet Uslu opened Canakkale Wars Gallery in city center. He exhibits war time works and some of the Turkish and Greek bricks from Ottoman era collected around Canakkale. Uslu said: “The biggest brick manufacturer of Ottoman era was Eceabat town of Canakkale. There was a hundred brick factory in Canakkale in 1900. Famous Maydos bricks were manufactured here and then distributed to the other regions of Country. I would like to collect some different brick examples of theese hundred company to live a piece of history for next generations. 30% of the bricks are Turkish and 70% of them are Greek in my collection. Most of the bricks have a mark of the manufacturer. There are approximately 170 brics in my collection. But I can't exhibits all of them, because tehere isn't to much space in my gallery for all. My main subject is to open Brick and Ceramic Museum and I am waiting supports of the authorities.” The writings and stamps of various bricks attracts public interest.
