| A group of 23 Greeks came to Canakakle in order to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Istiklal Primary School. The Greeks, who are living in Nikea, Athens, told that they are happy to be in the 100th anniversary of the Istiklal Primary School in which their grand families had had thier education. It is told that after the imigration to Greece between 1922 and 1924, It is an unforgettable experience to return back to the lovely Canakkale. The chief of the Dardanelians Union in Greece, Angelik Georgankeli, gave a plaket to the manager of the Istiklal Primary School, Ismet Cubuklu. At the end of the cerenomy, the Greeks planted an olive tree in the garden of the school as a symbol of peace and friendship. |
