The Ancient City Troia Is Attracting Thousands Of Tourists
It is announced that in the first 5 months period of the year 2005, 228.545 national and international tourists visited the ancient city Troia. The chief of Canakkale Culture and Tourism Directorship, Ismail KANSIZ, told that 'in the last 1 year, Canakkale is attracting increasing numbers of tourists from all over the world. ' Mr KANSIZ mentioned the most visited places as the Ancient City Troia, Historical Gallipoli Peninsula National Park and the Ancient City Assos. Mr KANSIZ also added that 'In 2004, the number of the total visitors to Troia was 204.309. This number has already been passed in the first 5 months of 2005.' It is also told that with the promotions of Canakkale in the national and international tourism fairs and workshops, the number of tourists coming to the impressive sites of Canakkale would increase continously year by year. Mr KANSIZ also stress the importance of the tourism investments in the Canakkale region.
