The Belfry Of The Historical Church In Bozcaada Has Been Restorated
The Historical Greek Ortodoks Church in Bozcaada, Kimisis Teodoku Church, has been restorated with the order of the Prime Minister Tayyip ERDOGAN. The heavily damaged 4 floor Belfry of the Historical Church has been rebuilt. The historical Ortohodox Church was built in 1869, and has survided up to now. However due to bad weather and geograhical conditions, the 2 floor of the 4 floor Belfry was damaged badly. The Belfry was taken into a frame aftre 1980s in order to prevent form collapse. After the visit of the Prime Minister Tayyip ERDOGAN in April 25, 2005, the destiny of the Belfry of the Church has changed. After the requests of the Greek Citizens of Turkiye in Bozcaada Island, Prime Minister ERDOGAN had ordered the authorities to restorate the Belfry. Later on 280.000 YTL budget has been spent in order to restorate the Belfry of the historical church. The Belfry has also been decorated with lighted clocks on the four sides of the top floor.
