In order to honour 25 thousand Russian Citizens, who escaped bolshevik mutiny to the Gallipoli town of Canakkale between the years 1921 and 1922, a mounument has been built in the Gallipoli Town of Canakkale. The monument has been opened with the attendance of former Russian Federation Culture and Communication Minister, Alexandre Sokolov, and several official authorities. The construction of the monument was started about 4 months ago and completed recently. In the openning ceremony of the Russian Monument in Gallipoli Town, the National Antems of Turkiye and Russia was sang and, President of Russian National Honour Assosciation , V.I. YAKUNIN, and the Canakkale Governor, Orhan KIRLI, had performed speeces regarding the importance of the first Russian Monument in Turkiye. The Canakkale Governor, Orhan KIRLI, told that the monument has a special importance for the more powerful relationship between Turkiye and Russia. |
