Travelling With The Replica Of The 3300 Years Old Historical Ship
The researchers, who has built the replica of the 3300 years old sunk trade ship, has arrived to Canakkale. Archeolog Osman Erkut, the project manager of the '360 degree research group' told that by building the replica of the historical trade ship ' Uluburun', they are trying to explore how it was travelled with this type of ship in that times. Archeolog Erkut told that their aim is to attract the interest of the National and International press to the Anatolian History and Turkish Marines. Doing so, '360 degree research group' has built the replica of the 3300 years old 'Uluburun' and they started to explore the working conditions and lifesytle of sailing with a historical ship. Archeolog Erkut told that they have completed 3000 miles since 2004. Mr Erkut added that their current route is from Istanbul to Izmir and they have stopped in the Canakkale Marine due to unsuiatble weather conditions. Mr Erkut stated that they have 9 researchers in their crew. The interesting outlook of the research ship has attracted the attention of the locals and tourists.
