THE HAPINESS OF SEABUS IN CANAKKALE

The seabus that was bought from South Korea by the sea transportation company GESTAŞ INC. was brought to Canakkale. Hasan Yürükçü, General Manager of GESTAŞ INC., specified that the seabus called as “Conkbayırı”costed 4 millionTL and it could complete the route between Canakkale and Gokceada about 1 hour, between Canakkale and Bozcaada about 50 minutes and between Kabatepe and Gokceada about half an hour. It was specified that the seabus will go into service with a ceremony that Binali Yıldırım the Minister of Transportation would join in.  

THE 200 YEARS OLD HISTORICAL PIANO NEEDS CARE

The 200 years old historical piano needs care in Canakkale Cumhuriyet Elementary School. The authorities of school specified that they made applications in lots of places for reconstruction of Dietrich marked piano and said that first they designed the exterior of piano as a nice sight with the support of Industrial Vacational High School but it was impossible to play that piano at that time. They also specified that the interior parts of the piano prevented them although the key stayed as original and if they could find a sponsor they would have made it as a playable.

INTEPE YOUTH'S CAMP IS BEING MODERNIZED

Doğan Anşin, The Provincial Director of Youth and Sports of Canakkale, specified that the youth camp which is located on Intepe town next to Canakkale city center and hundreds of person accommodate in every year, will be modernized completely. The beds are about 10 or 15 years old in the camp which is located on the area of 3.000 square metres and has got 120 beds. He added that an action to ensure that national teams could camp these places rather than hotels, was begun all over Turkey for this reason. These actions will be begun in Canakkale, too. All of the rooms will be modernized and all the beds will be changed in the reconstruction activities that will cost about 900.000 TL. Also all rooms will contain plasm TV, minibar, etc... Thus, our national teams on football, basketball, volleyball, box, etc... will be able to accommodate and camp there.

CANAKKALE WAS THE HONOR GUEST OF IIF

The honor guest city of Izmir International Fair will be Canakkale this year. To be the first international fair organization in Turkey IIF will be organized 78th time between 28th of August and 6th of September in 2009. The administrative board of IZFAS determined Canakkale to be the honor guest city. The theme of fair was determined as Communication Technologies and Telecommunication. communication technologies and telecommunication services which is oneof the most developing part of technology nowadays, became the theme of the oldest fair organization of Turkey. Canakkale will find the possibility of introducing and exhibiting of its industry, trade, historical values, regional culture, meals, crafts, traditions, etc...

GOKCEADA IS GOING TO BE BROTHER WITH MANDAS ISLAND

The good relation and friendship between The Municipality of Gokceada and The Municipality of Mandas in Sardinia Island of Italy about “Learning of Organic Life in Island Project” with common financial of European Union, achieved a new dimension. The Governor Yücel Altay specified that they would like to improve the relation with the Municipality of Mandas which was the partner of “Learning of Organic Life in Island Project” and The Municipality of Mandas would perform for being a brother municipality. The protocol of brother city will subscribe by each municipality as soon as possible.

NEW APRON WILL BE CONSTRUCTED AT THE AIRPORT

New apron is going to be constructed on the area of 10.000 square metres at Canakkale Airport. The activity continues at the airport that was built in 1953 and went in to action with additional establishments in 1995. The authorities indicated that the apron is going to be action on the 18th of March at the ceremony of Canakkale Sea Victory. They specified that the passengers were uncomfortable after the plane's arriving because of the long distance between apron and terminal, thus new apron would solve this problem. It is indicated that most of the construction finished.

A VISITING TO THE GOVERNOR OF CANAKKALE FROM THE AMBASSADOR OF AUSTRALIA

Peter Doyle The Ambassador of Australia visited Orhan Kırlı The Governor of Canakkale, who was appointed to Ankara, in his office. Peter Doyle mentioned that he could find possibility to work with The Governor Orhan Kırlı that had worked till two years in Canakkale. He also specified that he had been glad because of the struggle and care of Mr. Kırlı through the works of Gallipoli Peninsula Historical National Park. He also congratulated Mr. Governor about his further missions. Peter Doyle gave a gift to Governor Orhan Kırlı in memory of that day after the visit.

“VETERANS OF CANAKKALE” BOOK IS GOING TO BE A FILM ON TRT 6

“Veterans of Canakkale” movie, that the book of Ahmet Uslu who is the historian and the researcher of Canakkale, will be taken by TRT and will be issued on the channel TRT 6. Ahmet Uslu, the historian and the researcher of Canakkale, specified that his book contained; how the veterans that returned from Canakkale told about there and how did they continue their lives. He mentioned that the 13 chapter movie whose last part was taken in Gaziantep, was taken by a private film company on the part of TRT. He told that his book mirrored the culture of Canakkale as the best of it.
